ABOUT JOAQUÍN BLÁZQUEZ >>>

Joaquín Blázquez Garcés was born in Barcelona the 6th of October of 1946. His first professional work was done when he was 13, for the agency “Barton Art”, and at the age of 18 he carried on his first series, “Buffalo Bill”, with the classic oblong format of the adventure stories.

After dedicating himself to humoristic comics, in 1975 he contacted with the agency from Barcelona “Selecciones Ilustradas” with the intention of publishing in USA for “Warren”. His first works were accepted and he decided to work with American scripts until, in 1977, he started to actively participate in the magazine “Eh!”, that closed 10 publications after. So he went back to “Bardon” to work with the English market.
Immediately he contacted with “Editorial Norma”, where he continued doing romantic series for England. That year, Blázquez suffered a creative crisis that separated him from the world of comics until, at the end of 1978, he accepted to do a series for Germany.

Until 1983, he published other works in several countries. When “E.T.” was released, he became obsessed about reclaiming the royalties for the design of the creature. He died in 1986, without obtaining any result.
